Vibrant Corporation has added a new Application Engineer to its ranks. Richard Livings, who recently earned a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics from Iowa State University (ISU), will contribute to Vibrant’s research and development efforts for Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE). Dr. Livings will also work to transition newly developed capabilities into commercial applications for Vibrant’s Process Compensated Resonance Testing (PCRT) services. “Richard is a driven engineer with a potent research acumen and compelling background in quantitative NDE,” said Vibrant Engineering Manager Eric Biedermann. “Our PCRT development projects, PCRT applications, and ultimately our customers will all benefit from his skills and dedication.”
Dr. Livings also holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State. Prior to joining Vibrant, he worked as a Research Assistant at ISU studying ultrasonic and resonance NDE methods for composite materials, numerical modeling for NDE and mechanics of materials, and NDE for material characterization. Dr. Livings has also been a research intern at NASA, where he evaluated new NDE methods and technologies.
