TECH BYTES: $1M „ANGEL“ ROUND FOR VIBRANT: Vibrant Corp., an Albuquerque company that uses vibration and statistical analysis to test precision aircraft parts, has received $1 million in investments from local and out-of-state private investors.
CEO Lem Hunter says the money will be used to finish pilot projects with engine builders Williams International and Rolls Royce, and with Delta Airlines.
Vibrant uses technology licensed from another Albuquerque firm, Quasar International, that nondestructively tests engine parts by measuring vibration. The system can be used to cull bad parts from manufacturing lines, and to test parts that have already been used during engine overhauls.
Investors include J.T. Michelson, of Albuquerque aircraft parts manufacturer Sun Country Industries, and local investor and entrepreneur Dave Durgin.
