Pratt & Whitney Canada has issued a service bulletin recommending aircraft engine hardware to be sent to Vibrant Corporation for inspection. Pratt & Whitney Canada S.B. No. 1762 recommends that certain compressor turbine (CT) blades from several PT6A engine models be inspected with Vibrant’s Process Compensated Resonance Testing (PCRT) for dimensional acceptability and continued use. Affected engine models include the PT6A-34, PT6A-36AG, PT6A-34B, PT6A-36, PT6A-114 and PT6A-114A.
“We’re eager to be part of Pratt & Whitney Canada’s maintenance solution for turbine blades,” said Vibrant VP of Operations Greg Weaver. “Through the use of PCRT, we’re helping Pratt preserve service life and performance for PT6 engines. We’re also pleased to add another application to our growing collaboration with Pratt & Whitney Canada.”
